Pentland Hills (ward)

Pentland Hills is one of the 17 wards used to elect members of the City of Edinburgh Council. It was created in 2007. The ward covers the south-west part of Edinburgh beyond the A720 bypass road, including Baberton, Balerno, Currie, Juniper Green and Ratho, plus the Heriot-Watt University campus, reaching to the borders with West Lothian, Midlothian and a small border with the Scottish Borders at the edge of the Pentland Hills.

Originally, three councillors were elected. Within the bypass it included Kingsknowe and the southern part of Wester Hailes and Clovenstone. In 2017 the boundaries were redrawn: Kingsknowe was removed and the northern part of Wester Hailes plus the Calders were added, increasing the seats to four.

In 2019 the ward had a population of 32,703.
