Paul Etiang
Paul Etiang (15 August 1938 – 31 December 2020), also spelled Etyang, was a Ugandan diplomat and politician who served as Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda from 1997 to 2001. Born in Tororo, Uganda, he studied at Busoga College Mwiri and Makerere University College. In 1962 he joined the provincial administration as a district officer, then moved to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1964. In 1965 he became second secretary at Uganda’s legation in Moscow, Soviet Union. He married Zahra A. Foum. Etiang died from COVID-19 on 31 December 2020 at the age of 82.
