Paris Saint-Germain FC Youth Academy
Paris Saint-Germain FC Youth Academy, or PSG Youth Academy, is the club’s training system for boys and girls. It is run by the Association Paris Saint-Germain. The men’s academy started in 1970, with the first training center opening in 1975. The women’s program began in 2012, and the first women’s center opened in 2023. Training and home matches for the youth teams are now at Campus PSG in Poissy, which opened in 2024.
Players typically join at about 15 years old and progress through different age groups. For the men, the path goes from U17 to U19 and Espoirs before reaching the first team; for the women, the main youth level is U19. The academy has produced many stars who went on to play for PSG or other clubs, including Nicolas Anelka, Kingsley Coman, Presnel Kimpembe, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Grace Geyoro and Sandy Baltimore.
Competitions include:
- Men’s U17 in Championnat National U17 and Alkass International Cup
- Men’s U19 in Championnat National U19, Coupe Gambardella and UEFA Youth League
- Espoirs (men’s under-23) in Challenge Espoirs and Premier League International Cup
- Women’s U19 in Championnat National Féminin U19
The PSG Youth Academy has won many honors and is recognized as one of the best in France. It has earned multiple Best Youth Club awards from the French Football Federation and won numerous national and European trophies, including Alkass Cup titles.
New developments in recent years include creating the Espoirs team to give more playing time to young players and moving the academy’s base to Campus PSG in Poissy in 2024. The campus features a 1,100-seat stadium plus several pitches for all youth teams. The academy also runs the Titi d’Or awards, which honor the most promising male and female players from the youth system.
