Trey Lewis (American football)

Trey Lewis (born May 23, 1985) is a former American football defensive tackle who played in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons. He grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and played college football at Washburn University, where he earned All-American honors in 2006 and multiple conference awards.

Drafted in 2007 in the 6th round (185th overall) by the Falcons, Lewis started in Week 4 of his rookie season. He tore his ACL in Week 11 and was placed on injured reserve. In 2008 he re-tore his ACL after falling down stairs and spent the season on IR while recovering. He returned in 2009, appearing in several games and recording tackles. In 2010 he started the opener but spent most of the year inactive. He signed a contract extension in 2011 but was released at the start of the season.

In 2012 he worked out with the Chicago Bears but did not sign, then joined the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League, playing 3 games with 11 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble before the league folded. After football, he has run an auto dealership.
