Paola Pezzo, born January 8, 1969, in Bosco Chiesanuova, Italy, is an Italian cross-country mountain bike racer from Verona. She rode for teams including Gary Fisher and the Specialized Factory Team. Pezzo won the first Olympic gold medal for women's mountain biking at the 1996 Atlanta Games and added another Olympic gold at the 2000 Sydney Games. She is a two-time World Champion, taking titles in 1993 and 1997, and also won the 1997 Grundig World Cup overall. Pezzo is one of the sport’s most successful riders, with multiple major victories in her career.
