Pampanuto
Pampanuto is a white wine grape from the Apulia region in southern Italy. It is mainly used as a blending grape to soften the acidity of other varieties. In Gioia del Colle DOC (Bari), Pampanuto is allowed but plays a minor role, with white wines typically made from 50-70% Trebbiano Toscano and the rest from Pampanuto and other local grapes. For DOC wines, Pampanuto must be harvested at a yield of no more than 13 tonnes per hectare, and the finished wine must have at least 10.5% alcohol. Synonyms include La Pampanuta, Pampanino, Pampanuto di Terlizzi, and Rizzulo.
