Palmital, São Paulo
Palmital is a municipality in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. It covers about 548 square kilometers and sits roughly 508 meters above sea level. The population was 22,272 in 2020. The economy relies on agriculture and cattle raising. Palmital is known for its carnaval celebrations. In telecommunications, Telecomunicações de São Paulo served the city until Telefónica bought the company in 1998; the Vivo brand has been used since 2012, now offering mobile and fixed-line services, internet (fiber and 4G), and TV. The Catholic Church is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Assis, and there are several evangelical churches, including Pentecostal groups such as the Assemblies of God in Brazil and the Christian Congregation in Brazil.
