Ghughali
Ghughuli is a town and nagar panchayat in Maharajganj district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It lies near Gorakhpur and close to the Indo-Nepal border. The Baikunthi River runs to the east, where its bank is used for last rites and river sand is quarried nearby.
As of the 2011 census, Ghughuli has 11 wards. The population is 11,271 (5,693 males and 5,578 females). Children aged 0–6 number 1,374 (12.19%). The female sex ratio is 980 per 1000 males, higher than the state average of 912, and there are about 887 children aged 0–6, just above the state average of 902. The literacy rate is 74.47% (male 84.03%, female 64.84%).
Ghughuli administers over 1,900 houses, providing water and sewerage, can build roads, and collects property taxes within its limits. The town has a railway station on the Muzaffarpur–Gorakhpur main line, under the Varanasi railway division. Most people work in farming. The main language is Bhojpuri, with Hindi and English also used.
