Ottico Meccanica Italiana
Ottico Meccanica Italiana (OMI) was an Italian company that made photogrammetric instruments. It was founded in 1926 in Rome by Umberto Nistri. In 1962, Umberto’s son, Raffaello Nistri, became president. In the 1980s the company became part of Agusta. The air photography division later split into S.A.R.A. Nistri and Aerofotogrammetrica Nistri. OMI also produced the OMI cryptograph, a cipher machine similar to the Enigma.
