Rumley Township, Harrison County, Ohio

Rumley Township is in Harrison County, Ohio, in the northern part of the county. The 2020 census counted 1,275 people. The village of Jewett sits in the southern part of the township, and the unincorporated community of New Rumley is in the center. It is the only Rumley Township in Ohio.

The township covers about 23 square miles, mostly land with a tiny amount of water.

Rumley Township is governed by a three-member board of trustees. Trustees are elected in November of odd-numbered years for four-year terms starting January 1. Two trustees are elected in the year after a presidential election, and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township fiscal officer with a four-year term beginning on April 1 after the election held in November the year before a presidential election. If a vacancy occurs, the remaining trustees fill it.
