Organisations with former royal patronage in Hong Kong
Organisations in Hong Kong that once had royal patronage before the 1997 handover
- Government bodies: All government organisations dropped Royal titles on 1 July 1997. Crowns and crests were removed from uniforms after the handover and replaced with the bauhinia.
- Hong Kong Post: The Queen’s head and crowns were removed from stamps long before the handover. Post boxes with crowns were repainted or removed.
- Hospitals and private organisations: Some non-government groups with royal names did not rename, but they stopped using royal patronage or symbols after 1997.
- Earlier changes: Some organisations had already changed their names or disbanded before the handover, removing royal links.
- Remaining royal titles: A few organisations in Hong Kong still retain some royal titles.
