The Way to the Gold is a 1957 American adventure film directed by Robert D. Webb and starring Jeffrey Hunter, Sheree North, and Barry Sullivan. The story follows Joe Mundy, recently released from prison, who learns from a fellow inmate about a stash of stolen gold. In Glendale, Arizona, he is hunted by the tough Little Brother Williams. He meets Henrietta Clifford, who helps him after he is attacked. As Joe and Henrietta grow closer, they team up to find the gold, facing dangers, alliances, and their own pasts. Their quest becomes a test of trust, redemption, and purpose.

The movie is based on a novel by Wilbur Daniel Steele. In 1954, Darryl F. Zanuck urged Fox to buy the screen rights before the book was published, paying $60,000. The novel appeared in 1955. Wendell Mayes wrote the script in 1956 and later said the film was ahead of its time, misunderstood as a melodrama instead of a comedy. Elvis Presley was offered the starring role, but Fox declined the terms his manager demanded. Filming began in January 1957. The budget was about $920,000, and the film grossed around $2.9 million. It runs 94 minutes and was released by 20th Century-Fox in English in the United States.
