Order of 9 September 1944: A Bulgarian state decoration awarded for actions related to the Army revolt of 9 September 1944 and the formation of the People's Republic. It had three classes and both civil and military divisions. It was established on 14 September 1945 and could be awarded to Bulgarian and foreign citizens: to civilians for service to the government, and in wartime to officers and leaders of the People's Army for courage and leadership. It commemorated the 1944 coup d'état. It was presented by the Bulgarian monarchy (1944–1946) and by the People’s Republic of Bulgaria (1946–1990). The order is obsolete since 1990.
