One Day, All Children is a nonfiction book by Wendy Kopp, the founder of Teach For America. It explains how Teach For America started as a small idea and grew into a large nonprofit that places thousands of teachers in U.S. classrooms. The book was first published in 2003 by PublicAffairs, with a new edition in 2011 to celebrate the program’s 20th anniversary and to include a new afterword by Kopp. The title comes from Teach For America’s vision: “One day, all children in this nation will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.” The book shares Kopp’s experiences and what she learned along the way, including that Teach For America had more than 8,000 corps members teaching in the 2010–2011 school year and a network of over 20,000 alumni.
