On the Sunny Side (Paul Quinichette album)
On the Sunny Side is a studio jazz album by American tenor saxophonist Paul Quinichette. It was recorded on May 10, 1957, at Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, and released in 1957 on Prestige Records. The album runs 52 minutes, and the CD reissue adds a bonus track. It was produced by Bob Weinstock. In Paul Quinichette’s discography, it follows The Kid From Denver and precedes Cattin' with Coltrane and Quinichette, all released in 1957. Most of the compositions are by Mal Waldron, with some exceptions. AllMusic gave the album 4 stars, with reviewer Scott Yanow calling it an enjoyable and underrated release.
