On Point (House of Pain song)
On Point is a 1994 hip-hop song by the American group House of Pain. It was released as the lead single from their second album, Same as It Ever Was, on Tommy Boy Records. The track runs 3 minutes and 48 seconds and was written by Erik Schrody and Leor Dimant. Recording took place at Image Recording Studios, and DJ Lethal produced the track. It is notable for featuring raps from all three members—Everlast, Danny Boy, and DJ Lethal—for the first and only time on a House of Pain song. The music video was directed by Frank Sacramento. The song includes horn parts that recall Jump Around, and a UK remix was produced by Muggs and The Beatminerz. Critical reception was positive: Alternative Press praised its swagger and wordplay; Music Week gave it 4 out of 5 and named it Pick of the Week in Dance; Classic Rock History ranked it sixth on their list of Top 10 House of Pain songs.
