Barber County Courthouse (Kansas)
Barber County Courthouse is at 125 East Washington Avenue in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. It houses Barber County’s government, and Medicine Lodge has been the county seat since 1867. The current courthouse was built from 1955 to 1956, designed by Brinkman & Hagan in the Modern style, and constructed by Frank E Blaser Construction Company of Wichita. It is a one-story building that faces south, made of red brick and light-colored concrete with a flat roof. The first courthouse was designed by Willis A. Ritchie and built in 1887. The present building is the second courthouse used by the county.
