HMS Resource (F79) was a Royal Navy fleet repair ship built by Vickers-Armstrongs in Barrow-in-Furness. She was ordered on 16 February 1927, laid down in August 1927, and launched on 27 November 1928. Resource displaced about 12,300 tons, was 530 feet long, 83 feet wide, and drew 22 feet 4 inches. She was powered by four three-drum Admiralty boilers driving two shafts for a top speed of 15 knots, and carried a peacetime crew of about 581. Her armament consisted of four 4-inch anti-aircraft guns.

In World War II, Resource served in two theatres: the Mediterranean from 1939 to 1944 (with a short period at Freetown in early 1940) and the Eastern Fleet from 1944. She was scrapped at Inverkeithing in February 1954.

Her crew gave her the nickname "Remorse," and her motto was Passim Ut Orim, meaning "Everywhere as of yore." Her badge featured on a blue field a sea-unicorn with a silver horn, gold.
