Olukoya Ogen

Olukoya Ogen is a Nigerian professor of history who has been honored for his contributions to education and research. He served as Provost of Adeyemi College of Education in Ondo from 2014 to 2018 and was the first Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Osun State University (2012–2014). He earned a PhD in History from the University of Lagos and a World Bank Institute certificate in Trade, Growth and Poverty (2006). A fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters and the Historical Society of Nigeria, Ogen has held international fellowships and visiting positions in the UK, USA, Sierra Leone, and Cameroon, and led a European Research Council-funded project from 2012 to 2017. His research focuses on the sociocultural and economic history of Nigeria. He has received several awards, including a 2017 commendation from the Nigerian Senate for accountability and the best Provost award, the title of Honorary Mayor of Baton Rouge in 2017, the UNIOSUN Gold Award for Research Excellence (2023), and the Ali Mazrui Prize for Excellence in Scholarship (2019).
