Henry Lorimer
Henry Dubs Lorimer (1879 – 8 February 1933) was a British Conservative politician. He served as the Member of Parliament for South Derbyshire from 1922 to 1924. He won the 1922 election, and although The Times said a defeat in 1923 would not be a surprise, he was re-elected in 1923 with a majority of 1,983 votes (5.8%). In May 1924 he was appointed vice-chairman of the grand council of the Primrose League. He did not stand in the 1924 general election, but he helped Conservative candidates by traveling the country to speak at Primrose League conferences. In May 1926 he addressed junior members of the Primrose League, praising their work teaching the young about the Empire. He was a justice of the peace. In 1928 he became chairman of Mashaba Rhodesian Asbestos Company, Limited, which owned asbestos mines in Mashaba, Southern Rhodesia. He died suddenly in a London nursing home on 8 February 1933, aged 54, and was cremated at Golders Green Crematorium.
