Normala Abdul Samad
Normala binti Abdul Samad is a Malaysian politician from UMNO, a key part of the Barisan Nasional coalition. She served as Member of Parliament for Pasir Gudang, Johor, from May 5, 2013, to May 9, 2018. She won the seat in the 2013 general election with a majority of 935 votes. Born on February 16, 1961, in Pasir Gudang, Johor, she has Malaysian citizenship.
Her education includes a Diploma in Personnel Management (MIPM), certificates in Training & Development and Safety & Health Management (NIOSH), a Professional Diploma in Safety & Health Management, a Bachelor of Business Management from Paramount University of Technology, and a Master of Business Administration from Nottingham University.
Normala founded and chairs Koperasi Seri Cempaka Pasir Gudang Bhd, a women-run cooperative in Pasir Gudang. The cooperative’s activities include sewing, making memorabilia, wedding apparel, cooking classes, and catering.
She was BN’s candidate for Pasir Gudang in the 13th Malaysian General Election. She was preceded as MP by Mohamed Khaled Nordin (BN–UMNO) and was succeeded by Hassan Abdul Karim (PH–PKR).
