No Time is a song by Canadian rock band The Guess Who, written by Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings. There are two versions. The original was recorded for the 1969 album Canned Wheat, but the single released in 1969 came from the American Woman album. The single version is a bit faster, with the verses rearranged and the long guitar solo from the original cut.

The single reached No. 5 in the United States and helped The Guess Who build a run of big Canadian hits, also reaching the Top 20 in New Zealand. No Time is a breakup song, a reverse Dear John letter saying there’s no time left for you.

Bachman described it as a country-rock song, aiming for a Neil Young/Stephen Stills vibe. He came up with the guitar line on a Saturday at Burton Cummings’ mother’s house, and the song grew from there. The track was produced by Jack Richardson. The original recording was in New York in 1969 for Canned Wheat; the single version was recorded in Chicago in August 1969 and released in November 1969, with the B-side “Proper Stranger” in some markets.
