NMZ (Nizhny Novgorod Machine-building Plant) is an open joint-stock company in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. Founded in 1932, it is located in the Sormovo district and was once a major artillery factory. It included the TsAKB design bureau, led by Vasiliy Grabin. Today NMZ is part of the Almaz-Antey defense group. It produces weapons and ammunition, artillery, howitzers, anti-tank guns, and also oil and gas fittings. The company has had several former names, including Gorky Machine-building Plant, Novoje Sormovo, Joseph Stalin Factory No. 92, Artillery Factory No. 92, Zavod imeni Stalina, and ZiS. The general director since October 2011 is Vasily Shupranov. Financial results for 2017 show revenue of about $17 million, operating income of about $22.8 million, net income of about $360 thousand, total assets around $445 million, and negative equity of about $38.8 million.
