Nicola Pfund (born 7 November 1960 in Sorengo, Ticino) is a Swiss-Italian writer, blogger, journalist and teacher. He is a native of the canton of Schaffhausen but was born in Sorengo. After teacher training he earned a diploma as a librarian-documentalist and later became a general culture teacher. He now teaches at a vocational school and writes about sports for newspapers; he is a member of sportpress.ch and AIPS. Pfund has written several books on history, education, sports and travel. His cycling stories about Switzerland and the Alpine passes are well known and often include new information about the country. In 2012 he started a sports blog about triathlon, ecology and ethics in sports, which quickly became very popular in the Italian-speaking world. He was chosen as one of Switzerland’s seven top bloggers to participate in a project about the Energy Strategy 2050.
