Terry Felton
Terry Lane Felton (born October 29, 1957) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Minnesota Twins from 1979 to 1982. He was born in Texarkana, Arkansas, and batted and threw right-handed. Felton made his MLB debut on September 28, 1979, and his last game was on September 28, 1982. In his MLB career, he had a win–loss record of 0–16, an earned run average (ERA) of 5.53, and 108 strikeouts.
Felton is known for several notoriously difficult pitching records. He had the most consecutive losses to start a career, the most career losses without a win (16), and the most innings pitched without a win (138.1). After the 1982 season, in which he went 0–13, he was released by the Twins. He had begun that season with an 0–3 lifetime record, giving him a combined total of 0–16.
In the minor leagues, Felton held the Toledo Mud Hens’ record for career wins with 33 until Shane Loux broke it in 2004.
Off the field, Felton married Jana, a Baker High School classmate, in 1981. He later became a detective and rose to the rank of captain in the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. In July 2004, his two-year-old daughter was attacked by the family Rottweiler; Felton shot and killed the dog, and his daughter sustained only minor injuries.
