Nazma Anwar
Nazma Anwar (c. 1941 – 14 December 2004) was a Bangladeshi film and television actress and a drama activist. She was born in Munshiganj District, then part of British India. Her father was a professor of Arabic at Government Haraganga College. After finishing sixth grade, she moved with her family to Dhaka.
She began her theatre work in the 1960s with Dhaka Drama Circle and joined Aranyak Natyadal in 1981. She acted in many Bengali films, including Dukhai (1997), Shonkhonil Karagar (1992), Joyjatra (2004), Chittagong: The Last Stopover (2000), Shankhonad (2004), and Hajar Bachhor Dhore (2005). She also appeared in TV dramas such as Iblish, Kothao Keu Nei, and Tahara.
Anwar had five children. Her daughter Ishrat Nishat was a theatre activist and died on 19 January 2020 at age 56. Nazma Anwar died in Dhaka on 14 December 2004, aged about 62 or 63.
