National Geographical Organization of Iran (also known as the National Geographical Organization of the Armed Forces of Iran) is a government agency under Iran’s Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics. It exists to provide fast and accurate geographic information for Iran and the armed forces. The organization has its roots in 1921 and was officially established in 1951 to map and survey the country. It works with the National Cartographic Center to produce spatial data, and it handles military maps, national borders, and other geographic services for the Armed Forces.

In 1955 Iran carried out the first analog aerial photography across the country at a 1:50,000 scale, and by 1971 about 2,550 topographic map sheets at that scale were produced. Recently, the organization has shifted to digital aerial photography using UltraCam-D cameras and has completed digital mapping projects for many Iranian cities. The Surveying Technical School is affiliated with the organization, offering undergraduate and associate degrees in surveying. Its headquarters are in Tehran.
