Nate Blackwell

Nate Blackwell (born February 15, 1965) is a former American basketball player and coach. A 6-foot-4 guard from Philadelphia, he played for Temple University from 1983 to 1987. As a senior he averaged 19.8 points per game and scored 1,708 points in his Temple career, helping the team go 32–4. He was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 27th overall pick in the 1987 NBA draft and played 10 games in the 1987–88 season.

He later coached: Temple as a graduate assistant (1990–1992), Coppin State as an assistant (1992–1996), and back at Temple as an assistant (1996–2003). He resigned on May 2, 2003, for personal reasons; addiction issues ended his coaching career. His awards include Third-team All-American (UPI, 1987), Atlantic 10 Player of the Year (1987), and the Robert V. Geasey Trophy (1987). He totaled 1,708 points in college.
