Nastassia Novikava
Nastassia Novikava is a Belarusian weightlifter who has competed in the 53 kg and later the 58 kg weight classes. She was born on 16 November 1981 in Zhodzina and is coached by Viktor Shilay. She stands about 1.50 m tall.
Her Olympic and World highlights:
- 2004 Olympics: finished fifth in the 53 kg category.
- 2007 World Championships: won silver in the 53 kg class with a total of 213 kg.
- 2008 Beijing Olympics: won bronze in the 53 kg class, but this medal was stripped in 2016 after a positive drug test retest.
After moving to the 58 kg category, she achieved more success:
- 2010 European Championship: won the 58 kg title with a personal best total of 238 kg.
- 2011 World Championship: won the 58 kg title with a total of 237 kg.
- 2012 Olympics: finished seventh in the 58 kg class with 230 kg.
She also competed in European Championships in the 58 kg class, including 2009 Bucharest, 2010 Minsk, and 2011 Kazan.
