Naraini is a town and Nagar panchayat in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of the four tehsils in Banda and lies in the Bundelkhand region in the southern part of the state. It is about 619 km southeast of New Delhi and 234 km south of Lucknow.

As of the 2011 census, Naraini had 13,400 people: 7,218 men and 6,182 women. Children aged 0–6 years numbered 1,876. There were 8,866 literates (66.2% overall), with a male literacy rate of 73.8% and female literacy rate of 57.2%. The effective literacy rate for people aged 7 and above was 76.9% (male 85.4%, female 66.9%). The Scheduled Castes population was 2,757, and there were 2,505 households. In 2001, the population was 13,124 with 7,419 literates (56.5%) and an effective literacy rate of 69.3%.

Naraini has nearby transport links. The nearest airport is Khajuraho, about 110 km away. The nearest railways are Atarra (15 km) and Banda (35 km). By road, Naraini is about 35 km from Banda and about 100 km from Satna in Madhya Pradesh.

Geographically, Naraini sits on a rocky plateau in central India near the Vindhya mountain range. It experiences extreme temperatures: winter typically ranges from 4°C to 21°C, while summer can reach up to about 47°C. The rainy season runs from late June to September, with average daily highs around 36°C and high humidity.
