NGC 7463
NGC 7463 is a peculiar spiral galaxy in the constellation Pegasus. It is about 95 million light-years away (roughly 29 megaparsecs) and is moving at about 2,000 km/s relative to the cosmic background. It was discovered by William Herschel in 1784. The galaxy is also known by several catalog names, including UGC 12316, KUG 2259+157A, and CGCG 453-048. NGC 7463 is sometimes linked to the NGC 7448 group of galaxies, but its group membership is uncertain. It appears to form a close trio with NGC 7464 and NGC 7465, which may be interacting and distorting their shapes, though large distance differences suggest they might not form a true bound triplet. The galaxies in this region are generally weak X-ray emitters.
