Luoyanggia

Luoyanggia is a small oviraptorid dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous of central China. It comes from the Haoling Formation in the Ruyang Basin, Henan. The type species is Luoyanggia liudianensis, meaning “from Luoyang.” It was about 1.2–1.5 meters long and weighed around 8–9 kilograms. It lived alongside dinosaurs such as Ruyangosaurus, Zhongyuansaurus, Yunmenglong, Xianshanosaurus, and Huanghetitan ruyangensis. Although it was once thought to be Cenomanian in age, fossils now place it in the Aptian–Albian stage of the Early Cretaceous.
