Myth and Mythopoeia is a studio album of contemporary classical music by John Zorn, released on June 22, 2014, by the Tzadik label. The 48-minute record features several pieces for different ensembles: a string quartet with soprano, a solo cello piece, a trio of piano, violin, and cello, a duo for violin and cello, and a piece for the full ensemble. All compositions are by John Zorn, and the album was produced by Zorn. It was recorded on November 21, 2013; December 20 and 26, 2013; and April 1, 2014. PopMatters reviewer John Garratt highlights the track Missa Sine Voces as a powerful and mysterious centerpiece that justifies listening to the album. The collection presents the paradoxical, signature style of Zorn, with a standout 13-minute track that invites listeners to follow his innovative career.
