Myanophis
Myanophis is a snake genus in the Homalopsidae family, with one known species: Myanophis thanlyinensis. It is found in Myanmar and was described in 2021 from four snakes (two males and two females) found near East Yangon University. It differs from other homalopsid snakes by smooth dorsal scales, a short tail, separated nasal scales, and a unique count of ventral and subcaudal scales. Males have a bilobed hemipenis. Its closest relatives are the genera Myrrophis and Gyiophis, but those have a unilobed hemipenis, while Myanophis has a bilobed one.
