Mustapha Yahaya
Mustapha Yahaya (born 9 January 1994) is a Ghanaian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Lincoln Red Imps, wearing number 8. He was born in Ejisu, Ghana, and is 1.86 meters tall.
He began his career at Consult Academy in Ghana before moving to the Netherlands to join FC Twente’s youth system. He played for Jong FC Twente from 2013 to 2016, making 22 appearances. In July 2016 he joined Europa FC in Gibraltar on a free transfer.
Yahaya made his UEFA Europa League debut on 14 July 2016, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1–0 loss to AIK Fotboll. He also played the full match in the return leg on 21 July 2017, which finished 1–0 again.
On 26 June 2017 he played the full 90 minutes in a UEFA Champions League qualifying match against The New Saints FC, which Europa won 2–1. The return leg on 4 July 2017 ended in a 1–3 defeat, leaving the aggregate at 3–4 and Europa eliminated in the first qualifying round.
In August 2019 he joined Lincoln Red Imps. On 17 September 2019 he played the full 90 minutes in Lincoln’s 5–0 loss to Rangers, ending their Europa League campaign. On 27 August 2020 he appeared in Lincoln’s Europa League match against Union Titus Pétange and scored the second goal in the 95th minute to help them win 2–0 and advance.
As of 9 November 2024, Yahaya had 71 league appearances and 11 league goals for Lincoln Red Imps.
