Mueller Park
Mueller Park is a park in Subiaco, a suburb of Perth in Western Australia. It sits next to Bob Hawke College, between Perth Modern School and Subiaco Oval. The park covers about 4.3 hectares (11 acres).
It was named after Ferdinand von Mueller, a German-Australian botanist who described many Australian plants in the 1800s. The Subiaco Municipal Council named it Mueller Park in July 1906. In the early 1900s the area included Subiaco Oval and hosted tennis, croquet, bowls, cricket and football clubs.
In December 1916 the park was renamed Kitchener Park during World War I, and nearby Roberts Road and Winthrop Avenue were renamed. In 1981 the park’s name was restored to Mueller Park after Subiaco Oval’s two-tier stand was redeveloped.
