Muang Then
Muang Thaeng (also spelled Muong Then) is a legendary Tai place thought to be in the Mường Thanh Valley in Điện Biên Province, Vietnam. In the stories, it was the first Tai settlement after they migrated south from Yunnan during the time of the Nanzhao Kingdom. The people were led by Khun Borom, who is connected to Piluoge, the Nanzhao ruler from 728 to 748.
