Shigeru Takahashi

Shigeru Takahashi (高橋 茂) was a Japanese football forward born in the Empire of Japan. He played for Waseda University. In 1927, while a student, he was chosen for the Japan national team for the Far Eastern Championship Games in Shanghai. He made his debut on August 27 against the Republic of China and played again on August 29 against the Philippines, a match Japan won. This was Japan’s first victory in an International A Match. Takahashi earned two caps for Japan in 1927 and scored no goals.
