Mr. Do's Wild Ride is a platform arcade game by Universal, released in January 1984 (MSX version in 1985). It’s the third title in the Mr. Do! arcade series. The goal is to reach the top of a roller-coaster-like track. As cars and other objects speed by, you must escape using a super speed button or by climbing ladders on the track to dodge hazards. At the end of each level, you earn reward icons such as cakes, extra letters, or diamonds, which can change based on cherries you collect. The game is timed, and holding the super speed button speeds up the clock. Hitting a coaster car or other object costs a life. After finishing the sixth level, the game starts over from level 1 with new obstacles and more cars. In Japan, it was listed among the top arcade games in April 1984. Ocean Software released a clone for Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, and ZX Spectrum called Kong Strikes Back!, which borrows Donkey Kong-like visuals.
