Moto-Yawata Station
Moto-Yawata Station, also called Motoyawata Station, is a junction rail station in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation (Toei Subway). It is the only Toei station located in Chiba Prefecture.
Lines and layout
- JR East part serves the Chūō-Sōbu Line.
- Toei Shinjuku Line serves the subway and terminates here.
- The station is divided into two sections: an elevated JR East station and an underground Toei station, connected by a passage outside the ticket gates.
- JR East has one island platform serving two tracks. There are two additional tracks on the Sōbu Main Line that do not have platforms for rapid or express trains.
- The Toei subway has one island platform serving two tracks. One end connects to the JR East station, while the other end connects to Keisei Yawata Station on the Keisei Main Line.
Codes and staffing
- Station codes: JB28 for the JR Chūō-Sōbu Line and S-21 for the Toei Shinjuku Line.
- The JR East side has a staffed Midori no Madoguchi ticket office.
History
- JR East portion opened on September 1, 1935.
- The Toei Shinjuku Line was extended to Motoyawata on March 19, 1989.
