MonaLisa Twins are a pop-rock duo from Vienna, Austria, formed by twin sisters Mona Wagner and Lisa Wagner. They were born on June 16, 1994, and now live in Liverpool, United Kingdom. They became known for their YouTube covers of Beatles songs and other 1960s bands, and they have released albums of these covers. They also write and record original music inspired by the 1960s.

Their father, Rudolf Wagner, is their producer and plays bass and piano; he co-writes and arranges their music in the family’s own studio. Their stepmother, Michaela Wagner, is their manager. The family moved from near Vienna to a suburb of Liverpool in 2014.

In live shows, the band usually performs as a four-piece. Mona plays rhythm guitar, Lisa plays lead guitar, and they often add harmonica or ukulele, with different bassists and drummers backing them. In 2012 and 2013, while still based in Austria, their lineup included Michael Mozeth (bass) and Philipp Wolf (drums). Since 2014 they have been backed by various British musicians, including during their two-year Cavern Club residency. They have toured with Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel and performed with them at Glastonbury Festival in 2017, and they have worked with American musician John Sebastian.

Their music covers 1960s and 1970s rock and folk, along with original songs in a rock & roll/rock-pop style and ballads. They are heavily influenced by the Beatles and other 60s pop and rock artists. The duo is known for high-quality video clips and strong vocal harmonies, which were praised by Tony Barrow, the Beatles’ press officer.
