edIT, born Edward Ma, is an American electronic music producer and DJ based in Las Vegas and a member of The Glitch Mob, a group he co-founded in 2006. He grew up in Boston and started his career in Los Angeles in the late 1990s under the name The Con Artist while studying at the University of Southern California. He became known in LA’s underground scene, hosted a Dublab radio show, and produced tracks for underground hip hop artists such as Sole and Busdriver. He also worked with artists like P.E.A.C.E., Myka 9, Daddy Kev, Hive, Dntel, Emanon and Phoenix Orion, and contributed a remix of Daedelus’ “Dumbfound” for the single “Something Bells” in 2004. His debut solo album, Crying Over Pros for No Reason, was released in 2004 on Planet Mu. His second solo album, Certified Air Raid Material, followed in 2007 on Alpha Pup and featured guests including Abstract Rude and Busdriver. In 2014 a deluxe edition of Crying Over Pros for No Reason, with five new tracks, was released on Glass Air Records. His music appeared in Season 2 of Shadowhunters. Although he said in 2015 that he wouldn’t pursue more solo edIT projects, he released Come to Grips in 2021.
