Peinaleopolynoe orphanae
Peinaleopolynoe orphanae, also known as the Elvis worm, is a species of scale worm in the family Polynoidae. It is an annelid, a type of segmented worm. The species was discovered in 2020 by researchers Hatch, Liew, Hourdez, and Rouse and was named in honor of geobiologist Victoria Orphan. It was found among several other Peinaleopolynoe worms. In 2021, the World Register of Marine Species listed it as one of the ten remarkable new marine species of 2020.
