Mocuachem
Mocuachem, a Payómkawichum village in what is now San Diego County, California, had at least 12 residents baptized by Spanish missionaries, mainly at Mission San Juan Capistrano, as part of Christian conversion. The village was in the Las Pulgas area, inside the Camp Pendleton Papa One training area, near another settlement called Chacape. Chacape is also listed in Mission San Juan Capistrano baptism records from 1779 to 1797. The area was part of the northwestern coastal Payómkawichum territory, according to a 1999 map by John Johnson and Dinah Crawford.
