Mizpah in Gilead (Joshua)
Mizpah in Gilead was a region at the foot of Mount Hermon. Its Hebrew name means "watch-tower" or "look-out" and is often written with the definite article as "the Mizpeh" (the watch-tower). The area was inhabited by the Hivites (Joshua 11:3, 8). The modern village of Metullah, which also means "the look-out," probably sits on the ancient site.
