1980 Cumnock and Doon Valley District Council election

Elections were held on 1 May 1980 for the Cumnock and Doon Valley District Council. This was the third council election since the 1970s reforms and the last to use the original 10 wards created in 1974. Each ward elected one councillor by first-past-the-post.

Results
- Labour: 8 of 10 seats (up 2), about 48% of the total vote. Labour kept control of the council.
- Independents: 2 seats.
- Scottish Labour Party (SLP) and Conservatives: 0 seats (both lost all seats).
- SLP notes: one SLP councillor (Patna and Dalrymple) left the party whip to stand as an independent; the other (Old Cumnock Parish) lost to Labour.
- The former Conservative seat of Catrine and Sorn went to Labour.

Voter turnout
- Registered voters: 33,658
- Turnout: 50.6%
