Missouri Route 87 is a 77.5-mile state highway in central Missouri. It runs from Eldon at U.S. Route 54 in the south to Glasgow at the junction of Route 5 and Route 240 in the north. The road mostly travels northwest and then north through rural farmland, passing near towns such as California, Windsor Place, Boonville, Prairie Home, Jamestown, and Franklin before reaching Glasgow.

Along the way, Route 87 has several brief overlaps with major roads. It starts with a short stretch with U.S. 54 Business in the Eldon area, then meets U.S. 50 and U.S. 50 Business near California, and later runs with Interstate 70 and I-70 Business at Windsor Place. In Boonville, it shares a short stretch with U.S. 40 and Route 5 before continuing on and following the Santa Fe Trail north toward Glasgow. Portions of the route also align with the Lewis and Clark Trail.

The highway crosses the Moniteau and Cooper county lines and mostly traverses rural, agricultural terrain with small communities and few large towns. The northern end in Glasgow marks where Route 87 meets Route 5 and Route 240; Route 5 continues with Route 240 Business into Glasgow, while Route 240 heads west toward the Missouri River.
