The Black Sequin Dress
The Black Sequin Dress is a play by Australian writer Jenny Kemp. It premiered on March 5, 1996 at the Adelaide Festival, produced by the Playbox Theatre Centre. The story, in English, is set in a nightclub. A woman leaves her children for an evening out, but when she hesitates and glances back, she slips and falls. Money, desire, and dreams pull her into a surreal world of haunting colors and strange imagery. The play was commissioned for the 1996 Adelaide Festival and published by Currency Press in 1996.
