Miklós Szilvásy

Miklós Szilvásy (also spelled Szilvási) was a Hungarian Greco-Roman wrestler in the welterweight category. He was born on December 5, 1925, in Márianosztra, Hungary, and died on May 24, 1969, in Budapest.

Szilvásy competed for Hungary in three Olympic Games in the 73 kg class: London 1948, Helsinki 1952, and Melbourne 1956. He won a silver medal in 1948 after losing the final to Gösta Andersson, and he then won the gold medal in 1952 by defeating Andersson in the final.

He also took part in the 1953 World Championships in Naples in the 73 kg category. Szilvásy wrestled for clubs including Ferencvárosi Torna Club, Budapesti Kinizsi, and Budapesti Dózsa.
