Michael Stephen Wood (born September 3, 1954) is a former American football player who was a placekicker and punter in the NFL for five seasons. He played for the Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Chargers, Baltimore Colts and San Francisco 49ers from 1978 to 1983.

Wood grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri, and went to Kirkwood High School. He played college football at Southeast Missouri State University from 1974 to 1977, where he set an NCAA record for career field goals. SEMO retired his No. 67 in 1978 and he was inducted into the SEMO Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002.

Drafted by the Vikings in the eighth round of the 1978 NFL Draft (204th overall), Wood spent his NFL career with several teams as both a punter and a kicker. Highlights include an 81-yard punt in 1978, and career totals of 29 field goals made on 49 attempts (longest 51 yards) and 82 punts for 3,019 yards.
